My Treasure

Diving deep down in the ocean of Life,

I knock open with a gentle stride;

Thousands of them lay there in pride,

Some stolen because of virtue,

Some left barren being overdue.

Around in a corner I see a shimmer

I slowly move thither. And –

I clutch you tightly,

And push harder and harder

“Ahoy! You ARE made of thick shell!”

You don’t budge and

I don’t give up.

Finally, you give me the way –

Like you’ve never done before.

The instant I see you,

I know I’ll treasure you.

For all efforts gone along –

Material and Eternal,

For every moment

Spent in anticipation,

You’re worth the entire wait.

You’re truly my treasure.

You are forever, My Pearl.
